I’m A Published Author Now!

And you can, too!

I’m A Published Author Now!

I’ve been debating for a long time about getting into the Amazon KDP world.

Studying blog posts and tips and techniques incessantly for years is a better description.

I’ve got to say, while I did get a few good tips, I decided to pave my own way. Which, of course, I will share below.

But first, check out my really cool, totally official author page on Amazon!

And, if you’re not into eBooks, you can buy a paperback copy of Empire of One now!

My hesitation was due to feeling like this process was going to be a bit daunting.

That being said, if you can build an eBook, you can also put it up on Amazon for an additional sales avenue with a huge potential market.

I got over my fear thanks to two people basically — Jamie Northrup - Minimalist Hustler and J.R. HEIMBIGNER.

I purchased Passion to Passive Profits: Create Digital Assets that will Earn you Money on Autopilot and the Kindle Direct Publishing — Side Hustle Quickstart Guide from Jamie, which laid everything out about formatting and getting started in easy fashion.

I also picked up J.R.’s book Writing Books on Amazon: Sell More Books and Earn More Money on Amazon with the KDP Author’s Shortcut which details his process and made it even easier.

Then, I took an eBook I had already made and published over on Gumroad, did a little formatting magic in Canva, and BLAM!

Now, I am a published author.

Pretty groovy, huh?

Now, here’s my recommendations for you to do the same.

  • First, get those books/guides I mention above. They’re inexpensive and provide a treasure trove of worth that will help you become a published author, too.
  • Next, I recommend my own eBook (which will get formatted for Amazon and paperback soon) Byte-Sized Brilliance: From Bytes to Books which walks you through the entire process of how to take your articles here on Medium and turn them into helpful eBooks. This book, for example, was just an extended version of my most successful article so far.
  • Then take your time. Don’t rush it. I’ve already noticed a few things I will be changing in my process for my next release. Make sure the formatting works. Make sure you select good categories. Make sure you’re producing a quality product that looks professional.

Pretty soon, you can be a published author, too! No fuss, no muss.

It really is very simple, so I suggest you do it in order to diversify your income streams. You can never have enough avenues to bring in money from your writing.
