How I Automate My Creative Process

5 ways to do twice the work in half the time.

How I Automate My Creative Process

Do you sometimes find yourself overwhelmed as a creator?

I know I’ve felt it, so trust… you’re not alone.

I believe just about every creator struggles to manage their time effectively at some point or another.

Whether that’s finding themselves bogged down by repetitive tasks, a lack of clear focus, or just trying to figure out what works and what doesn’t when it comes to building their solopreneur ventures.

It doesn’t have to be that way, though.

Imagine doing twice the work in half the time, freeing up more time in your schedule to be creative.

That’s something you’d be interested in learning about, isn’t it?

Let me share with you the way I do it.

1. Using AI as your virtual assistant.

I’ve written on using AI before, but I want to emphasize how much of a game-changer it can be in your creative process.

I leverage AI for idea generation, formatting, editing, and researching on a daily basis, cutting my workload from hours into minutes.

Platforms like ChatGPT can help you brainstorm topics, refine first drafts, and even provide research insights if you give them the necessary data.

By outsourcing these task to AI, you can save so many hours that can be redirected to actual content creation.

2. Speed up frequent tasks with Text Blaze

Ever since I found this little Chrome extension, my life has become much easier.

Text Blaze (aff. link) allows you to create snippets for frequently used tasks — think drafting emails, marketing on social media, saving frequently used AI prompts, adding CTAs to your posts — and allows you to do it with a simple slash command.

Not only does it save me time, but it ensures consistency of communication across multiple platforms.

I’m still finding new uses for this thing every day. By far, paying for this little app has given me time back in spades.

This is what part of my dashboard looks like.

3. Create data-driven writing formats.

I’ve established several formats based on expert advice and data-driven results that I’ve turned into templates.

This not only enhances my efficiency and output quality but also helps me keep my messaging consistent from one article to the next.

I analyzed what I found to work best for me — from blog post structure, headline styles, and content formatting — and I standardized my formats.

No longer do I have to reinvent the wheel when I do a post.

I just grab the article template that works best for my next piece, copy/paste, and then I’m off to the races.

My templates, ready for action!

4. Setting a schedule to maintain your focus.

While I believe this is a lot harder to do when you’re navigating a 9–5 and have to work in the gaps, I still think creating a schedule, especially a content calendar, is important for consistency.

In order to remain consistent, you must develop habits. The only way to do that is by repeating the process over and over.

Consistency will equal compounding success over time.

Establishing some routine also helps you to avoid burnout and ensure that steady progress happens.

There are tons of apps out there that can help you in this regard, but simple is the name of my game. I just use Google Calendar and Google Sheets.

5. Batch processing for efficiency.

I like to lay out all my social media posts the day before I post them. Then I schedule them all throughout the day.

It puts the posting part on auto-pilot and allows me to engage more when I have that time scheduled.

I also have a tendency to do this with my posts. I write a lot of posts on the weekend, and schedule them throughout the week.

The same with my newsletter posts. I focus on creating, not scheduling.

It keeps everything simple and easy to keep track of.

Automating your creative process isn’t just about saving time.

It’s about reclaiming your creativity.

Contrary to what many believe, it doesn’t kill you spontaneous creative impulse. It allows it to thrive.

By utilizing these tools and processes, I’ve transformed my workflow to become almost effortless to manage in a small amount of time.

This allows me to focus on doing what I love to do — creating impactful, meaningful content to help others.

By implementing some of these processes, I promise you it can do the same for you.

What will you automate today?
