Do You Deserve the Life You Want?
How to write with a philosophical mission, change your perspective, and succeed.
I need you to ask yourself a question and you need to be brutally honest with yourself in answering it.
Do you deserve the life that you want?
In most cases, with most people, the answer is no.
They want the success, and all the rewards that come with it, handed to them.
They feel that merely existing entitles them to great reward, a meaningful existence, and all the comforts they could desire.
How do I know this? I used to be the same way.
And that’s not the way the world works.
I changed everything for myself by being honest with myself.
Every bad decision, every failed relationship, every missed opportunity…
That’s all on me.
The only way that you get the life you deserve, the one you want, is by working for it, improving the lives of others, and helping them get to the life they want to live. It’s a simple formula.
If you’re in this for you and you alone, that will shine through in all your work. People will realize the inauthenticity of you, your brand, and what you offer. You will ultimately fail.
But by engaging in a perspective shift, embracing a whole person concept based on the five principles below, your work will move people, change hearts and minds.
Not only will you get what you deserve, you will enrich the lives of others.
Becoming a niche of one is just as much a philosophy of kindness and giving as it is a strategy for success as a writer.
You must learn to exemplify these fundamental characteristics:
- Leading from the front.
Courage is when you fear doing something, but you do it anyway. That courage is leadership writ large. Embracing this means you will put yourself out into the world fearlessly. You go from being a trend follower to being a trend setter. You show people a better way, and they will respond to that. - Genuinely caring.
Performative acts of charity are useless, but genuinely caring about the people that have given you their valuable time and attention is priceless. Helping them become what they want to be should be your number one priority, always. This selflessness will be noticed, and it will be returned with steadfast loyalty. Always remember you’re in the business of service before self. - Project your true, authentic self.
Don’t try to be someone else. Be the best version of you. Before long, that will be the only version that matters. It doesn’t matter if you grew up poor or under educated or had a hard life. What matters is the content of your character and how your experiences can help others. - Always maintain your integrity.
There’s no need to embellish or exaggerate. Your life is a story worth being heard. The number one person that should believe in you is you. Tell people what you’re going to do and then do your best to live up to your word. If you make a commitment, keep the commitment. When you fail, when you falter, don’t hide from it. Embrace it. Tell the world your truth. - Putting in the work.
At the end of the day, you’ll get what you deserve when you put in the work to earn it. Always strive for excellence in everything you do. You will not be perfect, but you will have tried your absolute best. If you do this every day, from the minute you wake up to the moment your head hits the pillow, positive results will happen.
This is a philosophy of success, not just in writing, but in life.
This concept is not just a strategy to get what you want but a paradigm shift in personal and professional development, emphasizing the profound strength inherent in individual uniqueness.
By merging this philosophy with your writing, you will produce work that grabs the attention of readers and propels you to heights you couldn’t imagine.
They will want nothing more than to read what you produce.
Because you’re helping them, you’re solving their issues, and you’re doing it from a place where they know you care about them.
I challenge you to ask yourself, “Do I deserve the life I want?”
Once you’ve answered honestly and make the changes necessary to answer “Yes” then there is literally nothing that can hold you back from success.
