Create the Experience You Want

How Authenticity, Patience, and Daily Practice Fuel Impactful Creations

Create the Experience You Want

When it comes to bringing a project to life—whether it’s a website, a book, or a podcast—I’ve discovered that the key is creating the experience you genuinely want.

If you aren’t excited during the process, your audience won’t be either. People have a radar for insincerity. If what you share feels forced or hollow, they’ll sense it a mile away. But when your passion shines through, it becomes contagious, drawing in those who resonate with your energy.

Be Yourself—No Exceptions

Let’s be real: authenticity isn’t optional. If you compromise on who you are, your audience will smell the lie like a fart in church. Don’t be afraid to show the real you—even if it’s a bit messy. Vulnerability breeds connection. And in a world full of staged perfection, honesty is a rare and magnetic force.

  • Share personal stories: People relate to genuine experiences.
  • Speak in your own voice: Ditch fancy words if they’re not your style.
  • Embrace quirks and imperfections: They make you unique and memorable.

Don’t Sweat the Speed

Everyone’s in a rush to get “there,” but I’ve found that the journey matters more than the pace. If you try to sprint your way to success, you might burn out before you see any real growth. Instead, think of it like planting seeds—small, consistent efforts can blossom into remarkable results over time. Showing up regularly is more sustainable and fulfilling than any shortcut to the finish line.

Think of It Like Bodybuilding

I love the analogy of comparing creation to bodybuilding. Your first workout won’t make you a champion, but every rep counts. You strengthen your creative muscle by showing up and doing the work day in and day out. Sometimes, it feels like a slog, but those are the moments that build endurance. Over time, you grow more confident, more skilled, and more in tune with your style.

Create What Excites You

If you’re forcing yourself to produce content you don’t care about, people will notice. Instead, tap into what genuinely lights you up. When you’re fired up about a topic, your enthusiasm seeps into your words, your voice, and your ideas. That energy is contagious, and it pulls people in.

  • Ask yourself: “What would I want to see in a blog post?”
  • Find your niche: Focus on areas that naturally spark your passion.
  • Keep it fun: Experiment until you find formats and topics that excite you.

Embrace Trial and Error

Not everything you try will work, and that’s okay. Experimentation is how you refine your approach. If one idea flops, view it as feedback, not failure. By trying multiple angles, mediums, and styles, you’ll naturally land on what resonates with both you and your audience. It’s in these small pivots and tweaks that you discover your unique blend of authenticity, creativity, and impact.

One Rep at a Time

In the end, creating is about connection—between you, your passion, and the people who vibe with it. So, be patient. Be real. Keep showing up. Each piece you craft is a rep that makes you stronger. Over time, you’ll find yourself with a loyal audience, a solid body of work, and, most importantly, a fulfilling creative process. That’s the real win—building the experience you want while inviting others along for the ride.
