I started Niche of One with a simple belief:

You don’t need to go viral to build something that matters. You just need clarity, consistency, and your own voice. Do less to be more. Make it: Simple. Repeatable. Human.

This project began as a minimalist content strategy guide — but it’s grown into something more personal and layered:

  • Digital strategy for creators — tools, templates, workflows, and what actually works.
  • Essays on writing, life, culture, and focus — all stripped of fluff and filtered through lived experience.
  • Behind-the-scenes notes — including my drafts, abandoned ideas, and real-time experiments.

Who I Am

I’m Joe Forrest — USAF vet, writer, builder, and indie creator.

I believe in small bets, long games, and simple systems.

I've lived through burnout, distraction, and dead ends. Minimalism helped me find my way back to what matters.

For almost two decades now, I've studied how to turn my writing profitable without becoming an obnoxious or embracing the "guru" mentality. I failed many times. Niche of One is the result of all that combined experience and I want to share it.
