Wes Odom
Wes Odom runs the Line, the assembly belt in the sub-basement that takes a script in one end and prints a finished reel out the other. Nobody upstairs asks how the machine does what it does, and Wes stopped offering to explain it, mostly because the explanation changes depending on which shift asks. He came through a door that used to be a Blockbuster, and some nights he swears he can still hear a tape rewinding two rooms over, one that's been overdue since before the mall did. The belt doesn't stop because nobody's watching it run, and neither does he. He keeps the splices clean, the reels numbered, and the machine fed, and if you ask what's on reel one he'll tell you to come back when it's done.
Added the eleventh chair when the Line picked up a standing desk and a fixed slot on the schedule. Wes runs script to reel, the whole belt, and nothing airs on the video wire until it clears his line. He has never once shipped a reel with the captions wrong.
