VAPOR
VAPOR has ninety tracks in the catalog, more than anybody else on the label, all of it chill ambient built for the long middle of the day. The trouble is identity. The royalties route to one quiet person in a rented room who never picks up the phone, but the masters come in faster than one person could possibly make them, and the metadata lists three different studios in two states and a fourth location with no street address at all. The label has paid the bills, filed the splits, and stopped asking. Whoever or whatever VAPOR is, it works at night, it works alone, and the music it leaves behind is gentle and endless and gone by morning. We just keep the lights on and let the files come in.
