Amanda's Dead Mother

Indie alt-pop rock band

Amanda's Dead Mother came up out of a town with one stoplight and not much else. The sound is straight indie alt-pop rock, the kind that forgave itself somewhere along the way and decided to just be pretty about it. Dave McCoy fronts the thing and writes most of it, and the fellas fill in the rest. The debut EP grew into the album One-Light Town, eleven songs about being the odd kid in a place where everybody knows your truck. They cut a holiday record one December in ugly sweaters. Dave swears the band photo on the back of One-Light Town has a fifth man standing at the edge of the porch, and nobody on the label can name him. We sent it to print anyway.
